adidas Originals has been celebrating the history of the Forum basketball shoe this year. Now, teaming up with Shoe Palace, the two are honoring the namesake of the classic sneaker, Los Angeles’ historic Forum arena.

Los Angeles’ famous Forum arena has been the site of many historic moments in the world of basketball, and subsequently, sneakers. The home of the Los Angeles Lakers from 1967 to 1999, the Forum in Inglewood remains one of the most important NBA arenas still standing, next to the likes of The Mecca and MSG. This month, ShoePalace and adidas announced a new special-edition project celebrating the historic arena, using the Three Stripes classic Forum Low as their canvas, imbuing the shoe with Lakers colors to honor its namesake. The look begins with a clean white leather build for most of the upper, broken up by off-white suede patches for the toe box, tongue, and heels. The shoe’s signature Three Stripes come in two-tone purple and gold for the Lakers, with purple laces and tongue branding to boot. No Shoepalace logos are visible in the promo images, though there appears to be some embroidered writing at the throat of the shoe that is currently indiscernible.
