This is likely to be one of the most surprising collaborations we’ve heard about since the adidas x DBZ leak last year. This month, we have our first look at a new collection of adidas Ultra Boosts inspired by HBO’s Game of Thrones.
In addition to breaking the news about the adidas x GoT project, the YeezyMafia was also kind enough to produce potential mock-ups of shoes that might release. So far, we have reached a total of six Ultra Boost colorways to arrive in the collection. Earlier this week, we shared the Mafia’s first look at the Stark & Lannister pairs. Since then, they have periodically shared more pairs from the collection, including shoes for the White Walkers, Targaryens, and Targaryen Dragons. The White Walker pair begins with a white Primeknit upper surrounded by ice blue detailing and protection from the elements and is complete by black stripes and Ultra Boost branding along with “Winter is Here” along the heel. Next, the Targaryens have a beautiful iteration of the Ultra Boost on the way with a cream-colored upper as well as reflective silver detailing. On the other hand, the Dragons’ pair is much more menacing, featuring a black upper that fades to orange and red in the toe box. Both pairs of Targaryen Ultra Boost will feature a “Fire & Blood” tag on the heel.
While no precise release has been announced for the new adidas x Game of Thrones collaboration, the project is slated to arrive sometime in 2019. Due to the timing of the next and final season, the footwear collection is likely to release either in the early months of the year or in stages in tandem with the show.
