adidas Equipment (EQT) launched in 1991 as a stripped-down performance line emphasizing function over fashion. EQT silhouettes used the three-color palette (black, white, green) and a minimalist aesthetic designed around "only what's essential" — a deliberate response to the increasingly maximalist basketball and running footwear of the early 1990s.
The EQT philosophy
EQT's original 1991 design brief was to remove every non-essential design element. The line emphasized:
- Three-stripe branding applied minimally
- Green accent color ("EQT green")
- Clean silhouettes without excess materials
- Performance-focused construction
- "Support Equipment" engineering philosophy
Classic EQT silhouettes
- EQT Support (1991) — the flagship running silhouette
- EQT Racing — lightweight racing variant
- EQT Cushion — premium running with enhanced cushioning
- EQT Running Guidance — stability runner
- EQT Running Support — original "Support" silhouette
- EQT Basketball — on-court variant
The 2013-2017 retro revival
adidas launched the EQT Support 93 retro (2013) followed by the EQT Support ADV (2016) — a modernized take combining EQT heritage with Boost cushioning. The EQT ADV became one of adidas's most culturally important silhouettes of the 2016-2018 period.
Modern EQT
- EQT Support ADV (2016) — Boost-equipped modern EQT
- EQT Basketball ADV
- EQT Support 93, 93/17, 93 Ultra Boost

Collaborations
Ronnie Fieg × adidas Consortium EQT Support 93 (2017), Packer Shoes × EQT Racing, Pharrell Williams × EQT Support, and the Consortium Cup multi-partner EQT releases have kept the line relevant among collectors.
Current status
EQT remains an adidas Originals sub-line with periodic retro and ADV releases. Retail for standard EQT retros is $120-$150, with ADV and collaborative variants pricing $150-$220.
