adidas’ famed Equipment franchise made a quiet return last year, and has since been a regular part of the brand’s release calendars. This month, the EQT 93 appeared in a new sandal version, coming stateside soon.

The adidas Equipment line has always been about stripping things down to their bare necessities, providing athletes with exactly what they need to perform. Embodied by the slogan “everything that is essential, nothing that is not”, the EQT line has expanded dramatically since its initial offerings in the ’90s, at some point transitioning from performance footwear to lifestyle along the way. This Summer, the Three Stripes are taking the “nothing that is not” piece of the saying to new levels, with the EQT 93 Sandal, a parred-down version of the retro runner. The new sandal 93 removed non-essential parts of the upper for a more open and breathable version. Constructed from wide-gauge mesh, this EQT model basically consists of a toe box and midfoot panel mounted on top of the standard EQT midsole, held together by tumbled leather straps and providing a heel counter to keep you locked in.
