The Whitaker Group and adidas are strengthening their new partnership already with a signature sneaker. The BW 2000 is a riff on the classic German army trainer, debuting this week in two colorways.
James Whitner’s Whitaker Group is cooking in their new relationship with adidas. TWG, which is an overarching label that encompasses retail, hospitality, and experiences, debuted their partnership with adidas earlier this season, but has already delivered a treasure trove of releases with the Three Stripes. The retailers under the TWG umbrella, Maniére, APB, Social Status, and Jaide, all share in releasing these projects, the latest of which has surfaced today, and marks the first signature model for The Whitaker Group.
The new creation from adidas for TWG is a riff on the iconic BW Army trainer. The original 1970s model is on a popular retro run right now, and Whitaker has tweaked the design a bit to create the BW 2000. The new look adds some soft padding to the upper for a puffier look, and replaces the slim midsole with more standard cupsole, akin to that of a skate shoe. The initial colorways for the model, currently open for raffle entries, come in cracked leather bases with shaggy suede overlays and fuzzy laces. The first pair comes in a “Cream” palette with brown suede and green lacing, while the second look is dressed in a combination of clay & navy blue tones.
TWG X ADIDAS BW 2000 RELEASE INFORMATION
The all-new silhouette from adidas, created for The Whitaker Group, is currently up for raffle at all TWG retailers; AMM, APB, Jaide, and Social Status. The BW 2000 is an update on the classic BW Army trainer, done up in “Cream” and “Clay/navy” combinations for its debut. All four stores currently have EQL raffles open until April 22nd, with a wider in-store and online drop available on the 24th as well. Pairs are priced at $140.
