New Balance has been teaming up with Korean streetwear brand thisisneverthat on a regular basis over the past few years. This week, the two unveiled a wild take on the rare 1906R, coming soon.

Starting back in 2020, New Balance has been working with South Korean streetwear label thisisneverthat on a number of projects. Originally, NB tapped TINT to help relaunch the retro 2002R, before moving on to more recent silhouettes like the 860v2. Now, the transoceanic partners are back with another exciting release, this time in the form of the rarely seen New Balance 1906R. Built on the same Nergy midsole cushioning as the 860, the 1906 pairs this with an intricate upper constructed from a mesh base layer and synthetic overlays, all of which are done up in a clean palette of neutral shades. The mesh layer is dyed in a spotty pattern, mixing greys and sand colors, while shiny silver overlays criss-cross over the upper.
