thisisneverthat has been dropping heat on a regular basis over the past few years, teaming up with several footwear brands along the way for interesting projects. This week, that brand is New Balance, teaming up for two special colorways of the 860 v2.

The last team up we saw from Japanese menswear brand thisisneverthat and New Balance came in the Fall of 2020, when NB tapped the TINT team to help debut the (then) upcoming 2002R retro. Now, the two are reuniting, working on a new project exclusively for thisisneverthat’s latest seasonal release. Featuring the 860 v2 as their canvas, a ’90s running shoe most recently featured in projects with Montreal’s Dime. Constructed from a mix of mesh and leather elements and mounted on top of New Balance’s Nergy technology, the thisisneverthat edition casts the 860 in matching black and white color schemes, rebuilding the shoe to feature a perforated leather base layer in a luxurious new upgrade. Both pairs feature red NB x TINT branding on the tongues to complete the look.
