It looks like every major cast member will be getting their own NMD_R1, so if your favorite character hasn’t surfaced yet there’s still hope. The newest character to be honored on a Star Wars x adidas NMD_R1 will be none other that Princess Leia herself.
Star Wars and adidas are crossing of characters left and right as the NMD_R1 has already surfaced in a Darth Vader, Yoda, Rey and now a Princess Leia theme. While there’s so many other characters that haven’t surfaced just yet, it makes sense that other cast members will soon be rolled out as well. This iteration dedicated to Princess Leia is a travel back in time as the upper visits Episode IV: Return of the Jedi as the silhouette nods to the camouflage poncho she wore during the Battle of Endor.
The primeknit upper takes on earthy-tones as the base is painted in tan while olive and brown make up the camp print in a spray paint design. Olive accents are then added in on the lace eyelets, laces, and Three Stripes branding on the midfoot. Adding an interesting look, the white Boost midsole dons a gold spray paint design that’s accompanied with, “There is Hope” on the heel.
