Australian brand Song for the Mute is returning with adidas for their fourth collection this Fall. Once again releasing a range of apparel, this collection’s centerpiece is the retro-inspired Adistar Cushion silhouette, coming in “Shamrock Green” and “Earth Strata” color schemes in September.
Song for the Mute is an Australian-founded brand, started by Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty in 2010. The name is a nod to their intention to give a voice to the voiceless, and their main goal is to create clothing that tells stories of their personal experiences and interactions with people, materials, and sounds. Each season is purposefully crafted to look distinctly different from the last, from colors to textiles and more. Starting in 2022, SFTM has been working with adidas on regular collection, crafting unique apparel together as well as some interesting takes on Three Stripes sneakers, typically using outdoor-minded silhouettes.
This September, SFTM and adidas will be releasing their fourth installment of their collaborations. Their last release revisited the Shadowturf silhouette that began their partnership in 2022, alongside a new take on the SL72 that has been popular this year. For the “004” collection, they are taking on a new silhouette, the Adistar Cushion, a running shoe originally released in 2005. The color theory for this project is earthen, and casts the show in either a brighter “Shamrock Green” palette, or the darker “Earth Strata” brown style.

The fourth collection from Australia’s Song for the Mute and adidas has been scheduled to release next month, on September 19th, 2024. Featuring a range of apparel, the project is highlighted by the duo of Adistar Cushion sneakers at its center, coming in “Shamrock Green” and “Earth Strata” colorways. Pairs will be available from both partners, though a retail price is currently unknown.
