adidas and Solebox are reuniting this month to release not one, but two tributes to their iconic ‘Uncaged’ UltraBoost from 2016. Featuring the UltraBoost 1.0 and Ultra 4D, both pairs release this month.
In 2016, Solebox released their take on the adidas UltraBoost through the brand’s Consortium division. Building on the already massive popularity of the silhouette, the Berlin retailer made a move many had been curious about at the time, and removed the shoe’s signature plastic cage to create the ‘Uncaged’ variant. The release was immensely hyped, selling out and carrying a hefty price tag on the secondary market. Now, the two are reuniting to pay tribute to that release, with another UltraBoost 1.0 as well as an ‘Uncaged’ pair of the Ultra 4D. Both shoes feature a clean color scheme, casting the knit uppers in a soft cream shade, adding other slightly different tones to the heels. The 4D features a clear plastic heel counter, as well as glow-in-the-dark outsoles to complete the look.

Solebox and adidas’ upcoming tribute to their iconic ‘Uncaged’ UltraBoost has been scheduled to release first on March 17th with the Ultra 4D, followed by the UltraBoost 1.0 release later in the month on March 31st. The clean cream white colorways will be available exclusively through the Berlin retailer’s website as well as their retail stores.
