adidas Consortium is back with another retro release this month. Teaming up with South Africa’s Shelflife, the ZX4000 receives a special makeover that evokes the craftsmanship and colorful history of Shelflife’s home country.

The adidas ZX franchise is back in full force in 2019. This week, South African retailers. Shelflife has unveiled a new collaboration with adidas’ Consortium sector, continuing the use of the ZX line.

Shelflife’s take on the adidas ZX4000 is built to pay homage to the historic craftsmanship of the sub-Saharan country. The upper on this ZX4000 begins with a woven fabric base, mimicking traditional African weaving. This base is then layered with light grey nubuck to provide structure to the shoe, as well as protection from the elements. The medial side of the shoes is printed with an eye-catching orange Jacquard pattern. To complete the look, orange detailing can be found on the co-branded tongues and insoles, Torsion bar logo, and the cinch lacing system at the tongue.
