adidas has been killing it with their pop culture crossover collaborations in the past year. Following up on last year’s Dragon Ball Z project and this year’s Game of Thrones releases, a new project with Pokemon has recently surfaced online.

adidas has always held a special place in their heart for pop culture giants. Throughout the years, they’ve produced themed shoes for Star Wars, Marvel Comics, Marvel’s cinematic sector, and now most recently, Dragon Ball Z and Game of Thrones. This Summer, they look to continue this winning streak with a new collaboration that is near and dear to the hearts of many millennials: the Pokémon Company.

While we got our first look at the upcoming Pokémon x adidas collection earlier this year, it consisted of just a few grainy photos. Now, our friend Jean, AKA SoleByJC, has put his hands on a pair of the Pikachu colorway, sharing a better look at the shoes on feet. Using the legendary Stan Smith as a canvas, the white leather uppers are covered toe to heel in a black and white Pikachu graphic print. The inner sides of the shoe feature a full color embroidered version of the brand’s star, a look that is repeated across the collection. The heel tab comes in yellow to mimic Pikachu’s main color, while Pokémon branding adorns the tongue tabs, along with a Pokéball on the inner lining.

The latest pop culture collaboration from adidas, which sees them teaming up with The Pokémon Company, has not yet been announced by either brand, though it is expected to launch sometime later this Spring or Summer. While only the Pikachu pair has been seen so far, pairs for all three of the original starters, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle have also been teased. Check out the on-foot images from SoleByJC below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more adidas release news.
