Nigo’s Human Made x adidas Tokio Solar first debuted earlier this Fall, and already a longtime friend and partner of both brands, Pharrell Williams, has come up with his own signature colorway of the sleek silhouette, coming soon.
The Human Made Tokio Solar is the first signature silhouette from Nigo’s Human Made label, founded in 2010 to allow the artist/DJ to produce new projects that wouldn’t fit under his globally renowned BAPE label. The Tokio Solar builds on two pre-existing silhouettes in the adidas ecosystem, the Solar Boost series of runners, as well as Pharrell’s own Hu Solar, which applies a simple mesh upper to the standard Solar midsole. Nigo’s Tokio Solar differs mainly in the upper, which has been designed from the ground up to resemble classic adidas design language with a modern twist. The silhouette begins with a single-piece mesh base for the upper in a pale blue tone. The toe box features a suede cap in navy, matching with a suede counter at the heel. The lacing system and tongue are constructed with veg-tan leather with white 3M reflective laces, while a neon green collar lining adds a bit of flare. White adidas Three Stripes are added to either side, as well as crisscrossing around the heel for added support. The upper rests on a full-length Boost midsole in an eye-catching orange color, with hints of pink in the midfoot TPU insert and neon blue outsoles.
