New Balance’s 997 is poised to return to their Made in USA lineup this season, after the model was holstered for the last few years. This week, a colorful “Teal” look from the Teddy Santis-led division has surfaced, coming soon.
The archives of New Balance are chock full of excellent running shoes from their hundred-plus years of making footwear. Among the greats is the 997, a distance running model originally launched back in 1991. The silhouette had a resurgence in popularity a few years ago, releasing in a huge range of colors which included a wide variety of collaborations. The model has been shelved since 2021, but returns this year to the Made in USA line, under creative direction from Teddy Santis.
This year, we’ve previewed a handful of upcoming colors of the Made in USA 997, including classic grey & black styles as well as an Aimé Leon Dore project. Now, a colorful new style has surfaced as a part of the Fall MiUSA Seasonal Collection. The look pairs an olive green mesh base with dark teal overlays, adding flashes of purple and brown to complete the color palette.
