Zhang Quan’s Melting Sadness label appears to e kicking off a long-term partnership with adidas, if this week’s leaks are any indication. Today, we have an early look at a new puppy-inspired Forum Low, coming soon.
Melting Sadness and adidas debuted their first collaborative efforts last year, when the Chinese artist transformed the classic Three Stripes Superstar into various other things, like a duck, a bunny, and a hot dog. Taking on colorful designs and add-ons to achieve the desired look, this approach to footwear design has carried over into the latest work from Melting Sadness and adidas. Today, we have an up-close look at a new Melting Sadness Forum Low, which appears to follow the previous animal theme, this time incorporating a dog-like figure to the outer heels of the shoe. Dressed in a litany of brown tones across a mesh, corduroy, and suede upper, the Melting Sadness iteration adds an oversized strap circling the heel of the shoe, as well as reversing the direction of the lacing. While its currently unclear what the reasoning behind this is, we are likely to find out in the coming weeks.
MELTING SADNESS X ADIDAS FORUM LOW “PUPPY” RELEASE INFORMATION
The next installment in Melting Sadness and adidas’ series of Forum Low releases, featuring dog-inspired detailing, has been scheduled to debut next week, on October 29th, 2021 from adidas Japan. While a stateside release has yet to be confirmed, this “Wheat” colorway will release in limited numbers with a price tag of $150 or more.
