Digital sneaker publication Hartcopy is stepping up in 2024, teaming up with adidas to release their own take on the retro BW Army Trainer, dropping sometime this year.

Hartcopy began in early 2020, beginning to document the world of sneakers, past and present, via Instagram. The online publication is an ode to print mediums of the past, showcasing eye-catching sneakers against a white backdrop with blocks of text describing the shoe’s history and intentions. With a handful of hardcover books under their belt in the last few years, they are stepping their game up in 2024 with an official footwear collaboration with adidas. Diving into the brand’s archives, Hartcopy is taking on the BW Army Trainer, an authentic recreation of an old German army indoor trainer. The Hartcopy version is simple, casting the upper in a uniform white shade, with cream laces and a gum sole. Their signature red squiggly line, typically used to show misspellings in documents, appears at the midfoot.

The upcoming release from Hartcopy and adidas has not been announced for release, but will likely launch sometime in 2024. Featuring the BW Army Trainer in a crisp white colorway, pairs will be available from the Three Stripes and select retailers.
