In celebration of Happy Gilmore’s 25th Anniversary, Extra Butter and adidas will be celebrating the classic movie with a special offering of the adidas Ultra Boost.
Released all the way back in 1996, Happy Gilmore has become a major movie over the past years with many pop culture references being made as a nod to the film. Now as the movie is set to turn 25 this year, there will likely be a lot of celebrations happening just like this Extra Butter x adidas collaboration that features the beloved Ultra Boost 1.0.
The celebratory offering is a direct nod to the coveted “Gold Jacket” from the film which showcases a golden hue across the entire primeknit upper and mesh heel. To further the theme, suede overlays don the same hue while a white lace cage and white Boost midsole give a break from the monochromatic upper. The sneaker is finished off with a gum rubber outsole, co-branded insoles, and a finger gun-shaped graphic on the lower ankles as a nod to Shooter McGavin.

UPDATE 6/18: The Extra Butter x adidas Happy Gilmore collection will be dropping on June 25th, 2021 and it’s something you do not want to miss. Featuring an Ultra Boost silhouette, Boost Slides, and the ZG 21. “25 years ago, a fictional character named Happy Gilmore broke the mold on what it meant to be a golfer, and we wanted to celebrate that with a unique collaboration and collection,” said Extra Butter co-founder and CEO, Ankur Amin. “Golf is growing exponentially amongst every demographic. Golfers today are more diverse and the game is more inclusive than ever before. Golf is getting younger and breaking away from its “dad’s game” reputation as youth culture starts to embrace the sport. We wanted to be a part of this shift, bring our style to the sport and have fun with this project.” The collection will drop on June 25h, 2021 via Extrabutternyc.com and Extra Butter stores.
