END. Clothing’s strong collaborative relationship with adidas continues this month, as the UK-based menswear retailer debuts their contribution to the Superstar’s 50th-anniversary celebration, the Japanese-inspired “Alternative Luxury” special color scheme.
The adidas Superstar 50th Anniversary has been powering through special new releases all year, starting with new and exciting variations before moving into more sneakerhead-minded collaborations and special editions. This week, the UK-based retailer END. Clothing is the latest to unveil a collaborative take on the Superstar, this time taking inspiration from Japanese garments and their penchant for attention to detailing. While the original rubber Superstar shell toe remains the same, nearly every other piece of the shoe has been altered from its original form in some way. The upper is still largely made from crips white leather, while rebuilt tartan patterns make up the tongues and shaggy suede for the heels, complete with Sashiko-like over stitching for a distinctly Japanese look.
