The Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection is real. After some very early rumors last year, we are finally seeing some of the new colorways in hand. The ZX500 was the first to surface, now we have a look at Cell’s Prophere, coming in September.

The announcement of a collaboration between adidas and Dragon Ball Z was an enormous surprise. First leaked by the original YeezyMafia account, the project will include a total of eight shoes, each designed after a major character from the show. The collection will prominently feature some of adidas’ latest silhouettes, like the Yung-1, ZX500 RM, Deerupt, and today’s leak, the Prophere.

First launched earlier this year, the adidas Prophere has experienced a bit of a rocky start to its lifetime. Fans were slow to gravitate to the silhouette initially due to its oversized nature and surprisingly heavy feel. However, as more people tried them on and more colorways became available, they began to move more quickly. Now, we have our first look at the most exciting colorway yet, themed after DBZ’s Cell. The shoe features a black and green patterned upper made to resemble the alien’s skin, matched with purple lining and detailing to complete the look. The latest images also give us our first look at the adidas x DBZ shoe box, which will feature a sliding closure and Dragon Ball motifs around the outside and inner lining.

The Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection is rumored to begin it’s extended release period sometime in August with the ZX500 RM and Yung-1. Then, the Cell-themed Prophere will launch in September alongside the Deerupt. Currently, no specific dates or prices have been listed, though these are expected to launch from both adidas and select retailers.
