After months of waiting, Queen B herself just gave us an update on her “Ivy Park” adidas collaboration that will be released in January.
When adidas announced Beyonce as a creator, the sneaker world went crazy. While Beyonce isn’t known too much for being sneakerhead herself, her creative expertise is one that deserves to be expressed on a sneaker. Nonetheless her world-wide influence will stimulate the growth of the sneaker community like never before. Joining Kanye, Childish Gambino, Pusha T, Pharrell and soon Kid Cudi, the Three Stripes definitely has a star-studded lineup of expressive creators.
While we didn’t know what exactly the collaboration would hold, we got a better look today thanks to Beyonce herself. It appears that the grammy-winning artist has taken her vision and applied it to the iconic adidas Samba silhouette. Known for an athletic look and feel, the midsole has been swapped out for a thick Gum platform that alters the aesthetic of the shoe quickly. The upper is painted rather neutral with a white base and light grey suede toe caps, it definitely still masters the OG Samba feel. While staying lowkey, there’s also pops of color that make all the difference. For example, the midfoot Three Stripes branding and a portion of the heel take on a dull grape purple while an orange accenting rope flows around the entire silhouette. Solidifying the anticipated collaboration is an Ivy Park branded tongue thats done in a tonal makeover.

Starting the year off right, the collaboration is set to release on January 18th, 2020. While we just got a look at the sneaker, expect to see apparel and other pieces arrive on the same day or around the 18th as well. You’ll likely be able to find these at select retailers and adidas.com for an unknown retail price as of now.
