adidas is heavily ingrained in early hip-hop culture, dating back to the 70s, 80s, and 90s thanks to connections with famous musicians like Run DMC and The Beastie Boys. This week, the Three Stripes celebrates the 30th anniversary of the band’s album Paul’s Boutique tomorrow.

Despite being heavily associated with one another over the years, the celebratory anniversary project between adidas and The Beastie Boys is the first officially sanctioned collaboration between the two. Focusing on the adidas Americana, the silhouette helps bring in the 30th anniversary of their Paul’s Boutique album through a special sweatsuit-inspired construction. The shoe is constructed from a cream-colored vegan canvas, with soft grey terry cloth lining the inside of the shoes and taking over the stripes on either side. The midsole is constructed from stiff gum rubber, with a small toecap extending upwards to protect your forefoot. Finally, the classic adidas tongue labels have been reworked with the Beastie Boys logo.
