adidas has spent the last few years updating some of their classic sneakers with Boost technology. The latest silhouette to take on the beaded foam comes from one of the brand’s most memorable franchise, the ZX500 line.

The adidas ZX500 first released in 1984 as the brand’s offering for high-mileage running. The shoe became immensely popular due to its performance and comfort and has now become a beloved Originals silhouette in the modern era. The last time we saw the ZX500, the shoe was true to the original, a collector’s dream. This time around though, adidas is bringing the 80’s cult classic into the future with their beaded Boost technology. For their latest release of the cult running classic, adidas has taken some inspiration from other recent releases, decking out the ZX500 RM in a new over-branded look. The new colorway begins with a blanket blackout, covering everything from the stripes to paneling to mesh underlays. The tongue branding comes in infrared add some flair to the look, while a large adidas ZX500 RM on the side helps identify the model from a distance. Finally, a gum rubber outsole finishes off the look.
