The adidas ZX line is back. After 2018 introduced us to the Boost-filled ZX500 RM and 4D-aided ZX4000, adidas is ready to get back in the saddle with a brand new design for the franchise. Meet the ZX10000C, dropping this week.

adidas Originals recently hosted an event in the United Kingdom celebrating the”Roots of Running”- an ode to their storied ZX franchise. Originating in 1984 the innovative running series would run continually for the next five years, resulting in a total of 16 unique silhouettes. To this day, many adidas collectors focus their attention on the ZX family due to the impact they had on both the styling and construction of running shoes. Now, a full thirty-five years after the ZX line came to a close, adidas is ready to revive the cult classic sneakers with a brand new silhouette.

Titled the adidas ZX10000C, the latest and greatest addition to the storied Three Stripes franchise was only teased at the brand’s event last month before releasing in a special project with Overkill a matter of weeks ago. Now, we’re ready for the real deal. For the new release, adidas is continuing where they left off so many years ago with the ZX9000. The new 10KC as it is known (abbreviating the 10,000) adheres largely to the design cues of the originals. Numerous layers and a variety of luxurious materials make up the upper, all built around the famous adidas Torsion bar for increased flexibility and support. To make sure they got these pieces right, adidas even brought in the man who designed the original ZX line and Torsion bar, Jacques Chassaing.

adidas’ new entry in the ZX franchise, the ZX10000C, is officially scheduled to debut on February 23rd, 2019. The wild new iteration of the running line will retail for a cool $160 in limited numbers from adidas Consortium retailers.
