adidas’ ZX franchise has been everywhere this year, as the brand celebrated the 30th anniversary of the line’s original releases. Now, the Three Stripes are celebrating 30 years of ZX with the ZX10000 “Jacques Chassing”.
The adidas ZX10000C is the follow up to 1989’s ZX9000, thirty years in the making. Originally released earlier this year in a handful of different collaborations and colorways, the ZX10000C, or the ZX10K for short, was designed as an amalgamation of all the sneakers that came before it. The spiritual successor to the ZX9000 that released back in the 1980s, the new silhouette pays homage to its predecessor’s through its unique layering, throwback color schemes, and it’s use of the original Torsion Bar. Now, as adidas closes out the 30th anniversary of ZX, they’ve teamed up once again with the line’s original creator, Jacques Chassing, for a special edition colorway of the ZX10000. Titled the ZX10K “JC”, the new look covers the upper of the shoe almost entirely in a deep navy blue tone, from the mesh base layer to the outermost suede overlays. The midsole, adidas branding, and heel counter come in a vibrant, Sky blue tone for a pop of color, while 3M accents complete the look.

adidas’ special edition release of the ZX 10000, honoring the creator of the Torsion Bar Jacques Chassing, is scheduled to release later this week on December 28th, 2019, The tonal blue color scheme will be available for the silhouette’s usual $150 price tag, and launch from both adidas and select retailers.
