The adidas ZX franchise is back. After a slow revival starting in 2017, the ZX series is back in full force, with everyone’s favorite, the ZX8000, leading the way for 2020. Check out the latest colorway, Collegiate Green, which is availablw now.

adidas ZX running shoes might be one of the most important franchises in the 70+ year history of the Three Sripes. Released in 1986, and discontinued in 1989, the ZX line was built to provide runners with lightweight, durable shoes that featured flexible and adaptive soles. The franchise was a massive success, not only from a technology standpoint, but from a design perspective, as fans of adidas flocked to the ZX family for their casual-wear sneakers. Now, the fan-favorite, the ZX8000 is back in all of its original glory- and a little bit more. This year, adidas added a new Boost midsole to the ZX 8000, which was revealed to us through a video from retailer 43Einhalb, in which they cut the heel off of the midsole to reveal a round Boost pod on the inside. While adidas has made no consumer-facing statments regarding this, they did confirm to 43Einhalb that all 2020 pairs of the ZX 8000 would feature Boost.
