adidas’ ZX lineup has blown up this year, expanding to include nearly every mainline model from the original run in new colorways throughout 2020. Today, the ZX 6000 surfaced, featuring a new “Inside Out” construction, and ready to release this week.

The legendary adidas ZX family has seen a new wave of appreciation over the past few years, as the Three Stripes were working out their method of bringing retro sneakers into the modern-day. Now, the ZX franchise is back in full force, having even revived the beloved A-ZX program, which traveled the world to tell unique stories through ZX shoes. This week, we have an early look at the next release of the ZX 6000, originally debuted in 1989 alongside the game-changing Torsion bar. The latest special-edition look for the 6000 complete flips the upper of the shoe inside out, exposing the various layers of padding and stitching you can’t see from the exterior. The result is an extremely interesting, hap-hazard-looking shoe, mostly likely to be appreciated by sneaker design aficionados and those curious about what certain parts of their shoes are designed to do.
