adidas Originals’ A-ZX project resumed this month, with the first release of 2021 paying homage to jacquard weave techniques. Now, adidas is celebrating its innovative Torsion Bar with a special-edition colorway of the ZX 5000, releasing later this month.
The adidas A-ZX project kicked off in Summer 2020, bringing back a decades-old series of releases taking inspiration from anything and everything surrounding the designers. The first release of 2021 featured the ZX 5000 in a release last week, and once again, the Three Stripes is featuring a beloved ZX silhouette in back-to-back releases. This week we got an early look at the “Torsion Bar”-themed ZX 5000 slated to arrive on shelves at the end of the month. Constructed entirely from ripstop nylon, the Torsion-themed colorway pays homage to the original midsole insert by taking on its signature yellow colorway for a monotone makeup. Black detailing for the tongue labels and Torsion-branded lace locks complete the look.

adidas Originals’ next entry in the ongoing A-ZX series, the “Torsion” ZX 5000, has been scheduled to release later this month, on January 22nd, 2021. The bold yellow Torsion Bar-themed pair will be available from both adidas and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $14-.
