adidas Originals ZX franchise is back in full force for 2020, reviving some classic models from the archives for new fans to experience. This week, that release is the ZX 500, which returns in its original form.
The adidas ZX 500 was one of the first silhouettes from the retro running franchise to make its return several years ago, however no in its original form. In 2017, adidas was beginning the RestoMod program, which brought back classic silhouettes with modern-day upgrades, which, in the case of the ZX 500, meant a reconstructed upper and new Boost midsole. While the rest of the fan-favorite franchise continued to release in original and new versions, the ZX 500 has remained curiously dormant, save for one collaborative release with size? late last year. However, this week, the beloved runner has unexpectedly surfaced in a new release, arriving already overseas in a simple black and white color scheme with hints of red throughout.

adidas Originals’ latest retro release of the classic ZX 500 runner has not yet been announced for a global release, though some pairs have popped up early overseas.
