adidas continues to experiment with the recent ZX 10000 silhouette with new materials, styles and colors. This week, we have an early look at an upcoming “Clear Grey” iteration, making use of clear ripstop panelling for the underlays.

The adidas ZX10000C is the follow up to 1989’s ZX9000, thirty years in the making. Originally released last year in a handful of different collaborations and colorways, the ZX10000C, or ZX10K, was designed as an amalgamation of all the sneakers that came before it, fitting in seamlessly with the rest of the ZX family as well as bringing the classic line into the modern day for the first time. Now, the ZX10K is available in a variety of colorways, as well as numerous special-edition releases from the past two years. This week, adidas unveiled a new iteration, swapping some of the ZX 10000’s usual materials and casting the silhouette almost entirely in a “Clear Grey” tone. The material changes remove the usual nylon base layer in favor of a translucent clear ripstop, though it is unclear if this makes the pair see-through.
