adidas A-ZX project has already given us plenty of great releases, including the first-ever retro of the ZX 1000. Now, the historic running shoe is making a comeback, starting with a new “Halo Blue” colorway, coming soon.
The original adidas ZX series from the 1980s has always been a fan favorite amongst Three Stripes fans, beloved because of the consistent level of comfort and style throughout the franchise. The past few years have been filled with brilliant retros of some original colorways and silhouettes, but some are still missing. adidas is getting there, though, and this year’s first-ever retro release of the ZX 1000 is proof. Now, the classic silhouette is back with another new colorway, this time decorating the silhouette in a powdery Halo Blue color scheme. Featuring black mesh underlays and red accents, the new look is completed by neon green Torsion bars and branding.

adidas Original’s latest release of the ZX 1000 has already launched overseas at retailers like Aphrodite, where limited sizes are available, with a global release expected in the coming weeks likely due to COVID-related shipping delays. The second-ever retro release of this model in the Halo Blue colorway will come with a price tag of $100. UPDATE 3/28/21: adidas has announced their official stateside release of the “Halo Blue” ZX 1000, now slated for April 1st, 2021. The price of this pair has also been reduced to just $90, and will be available directly from the brand’s website.
