adidas and Japanese fashion label United Arrows & Sons first teamed up in early 2017 to release an adidas NMD City Sock and matching tracksuits in collaboration with famed calligrapher Mikitype. Now, they’re back for a full collection.
This collection sees UA&Sons apply their clean, minimalist aesthetic to a handful of classic adidas apparel pieces, as well as two recent sneaker silhouettes, the NMD City Sock 2 and NMD R2. The color palette for the new collection features a subtle mix of neutral colors, mainly dark grey, black, heather grey, and a deep navy blue to add a little depth to the limited range of color. The shoes from the collection follow these same design directions, both featuring detailed heathered-knit patterns, with the CS2 using a darker set of greys than the R2. The NMD City Sock 2 frames the shoe in black along both the ankle collar and outsole, with a digital glitch camo covering the medial support panel and standard EVA pod that is placed in the plain white Boost midsole. The NMD R2 features a light grey heathered-knit upper, that is accented by navy blue on the laces, tongue logo, heel cap, interior, and outsole. This pair also features reflective 3-Stripes branding that is only visible under direct light. ADIDAS X UNITED ARROWS & SONS COLLECTION RELEASE DATE
The adidas x United Arrows & Sons collection is scheduled to release Saturday, January 20th, 2018. The pieces are expected to drop both on adidas’ website as well as select consortium accounts worldwide.
