adidas’ Ultraboost silhouette has seen a number of edits and iterations since its introduction in 2015. This season, the Three Stripes are ready to debut a new trail-ready version in the DNA XXII, dropping next week.

The adidas Ultraboost is the stuff of legend at the Three Stripes. Rising to massive popularity in the mid-2010s thanks to a cosign from Kanye West, the running shoe quickly evolved into a staple of the sneaker world, receiving yearly updates to the technology and style, and numerous new versions in the years since. This week, adidas unveiled their latest version of the immensely popular model, giving the Ultraboost a trail-ready construction with the DNA XXII. Moving away from the single-piece knit upper, this new style features a separate mesh tongue, while the rest of the upper is constructed from a woven textile and covered by a ‘leather-like’ taped overlay. The classic Ultraboost cage and heel counter are present, as well as the full-length Boost midsole, now with a tough lugged outsole for better traction on the trails. The Ultraboost DNA XXII will come in four tonal colorways, cream, black, grey, and white.
