As China’s annual Moon Festival is set to go down this weekend, adidas will join in on the fun with a celebratory shoe. Calling upon the adidas Ultra Boost, the model takes on a festive iteration dubbed the “Moon Festival”.
It’s only right to get a little back story on what the Moon Festival is if we’re going to be talking about a shoe that’s dedicated to it. The Moon Festival is a big celebration that takes place in Mid-Autumn. Although it isn’t technically autumn for the states, it is dead center in the Fall according to the Chinese Calendar. Rice is at its harvesting peak and the Moon is set to be a full one and to them, it resembles togetherness and reunion of the culture. Definitely something very cool to be apart of, adidas has recognized the event and dedicated an adidas Ultra Boost to it.
Taking on the name, “Moon Festival”, this iteration arrives with a black primeknit upper along with black laces and a midfoot Three Stripes cage. Although very dark like the night sky, Orange is then added in to give a pleasant surprise just like the full moon. Orange, as well as a Chinese design, paints the heel counter and matches perfectly with the orange boost midsole that makes up the bottoms. Overall, a nice contrasting touch that definitely makes the model.

Although most likely available on third market sites like stockx, expect to see a price over retail as getting them will take some work.
