The adidas Ultra Boost Mid is one of the most popular variations of the silhouette. Reserved exclusively for Consortium releases, the sleek mid-cut silhouette makes its long-awaited return this month with the vibrant new “Prototype” colorway.

adidas seems to keep their coveted Ultra Boost Mid silhouette reserved for very special occasions. Launched originally in collaboration with Ronnie Fieg’s Kith, the best-looking iteration of the Ultra Boost is finally set to make a return later this month, in the wildest colorway yet. Dubbed the “Prototype”, this iteration was first leaked earlier this year in the form of an early mock-up, which did not show the full details that make the shoe so interesting.

The adidas Ultra Boost Mid “Prototype” certainly lives up to its name. With a brand new color blocking, the bright look begins with a Solar Yellow tone for the main body of the Primeknit upper. Then, the sock-like ankle collars come in a bold blue hue, along with royal purple heel cups. However, that is where the similarities between the left and right shoe end. The right Ultra Boost Prototype will be protected by a khaki-colored mudguard around the toes, matched by the layered eyelets. The stripes on the right side come in black leather, while the left simply stitches them into the knit in white. The left shoe’s suede overlays will come in a deep navy blue, and each shoe’s Consortium tongue tag matches the separate colors featured.
