The Three Stripes held it down in 2017, unleashing so many new silhouettes and colorways that consumers were overwhelmed with. It looks like they’ll continue the trend this year with this interesting adidas Ultra Boost Mid “Prototype” colorway.

The adidas Ultra Boost Mid is an elusive silhouette. Originally debuted as a collaboration with Kith’s Ronnie Fieg, the model has released in several limited formats since then, all of which were hard to get hands on. The Three Stripes also debuted an ATR version of the Ultra Boost Mid, though it is more of a technical trail runner than a lifestyle shoe. Now, it appears adidas will continue to build on the lifestyle iteration this year. The colorway is probably the most striking to take hold on the Ultra Boost Mid, beginning with a bright yellow Primeknit upper. Next, the protective suede mudguard around the toe will take on a deep indigo color, which is matched by the padded lace eyelets. Three plain white stripes extend up from the ATR layer, which then extends into the signature Ultra Boost heel cup in bright purple. The sock-like ankle collar and padded tongue piece are finished off with a royal blue hue.
