Manchester United’s first FA Cup victory came way back in 1909, 100 years ago. To honor the anniversary and the team, adidas is set to release the Ultra Boost “Manchester United”.
100 years is a long time for anything but for a professional sports team, it is huge. 1909 seems like ages ago and for the club to be still going strong today is amazing. The celebration is a great time to dedicate the coveted adidas Ultra Boost to the occasion.
The iteration comes as luxurious as possible. The shoe takes on a triple black color scheme. The primeknit upper, lace cage, tongue, laces, boost midsole, and continental outsole appear to have all gotten the memo and took on the darkest of blacks yet. The highlight and focal point of the silhouette is the tongue that features a Lancashire Rose in luxurious red that was actually featured on the 1909 jerseys. To solidify the nod, “110 years”, “Manchester Rose”, and “1909_2019” is written in on the Three Stripes Lace Cage.

UPDATE 8/15/19: The Manchester United adidas Ultra Boost will finally see a larger release on adidas.com on October 18th, 2019 for $250. Although far away, these are definitley going to be on the hit list of many so do not sleep. Stay tuned for more information.
