The adidas Ultra Boost DNA continues to act as the brand’s premier canvas for experimentation. This week, we have an early look at a new hybrid version, combining elements of the ClimaCool 2 for a sleek new design.

adidas ClimaCool technology has been a recurring element in the Three Stripes seasonal releases since its introduction in 2022, making this year the twenty-year-anniversary of the pivotal innovation. The last time we saw ClimaCool make a strong comeback was in 2017, when the original models were reintroduced to the brand’s offerings, in addition to new sneakers featuring the breathable designs. Now, to kick off the retro anniversary, adidas has pulled back the curtain on a new Ultra Boost DNA, the format used to experiment with other adidas’ properties, like ClimaCool. Subtitled the Ultra Boost DNA CC_2, this new look mixes the ClimaCool’s 3D mesh upper into an Ultra Boost shape, providing a surprisingly breathable upper with stiff reinforcement elements for a durable wear.
