adidas’ combined forces of the Ultraboost and 4D midsoles have been one of the most exciting new Three Stripes silhouettes of the year, and luckily, the brand has more colorways on the way. This week, we have an early on-foot look at the “Triple Black” pair, coming soon.
When adidas first debuted their 4D midsoles made in partnership with Carbon 3D several years ago, one of the first shoes they showed off was a modified Ultraboost featuring the futuristic new technology. Since then, fans of the Three Stripes have been clamoring for a release of the hybrid silhouette, and in 2020, adidas has finally perfected the Ultra 4D. Debuted in the Ultraboost’s original color scheme, the Ultra 4D has already surfaced in several other throwback colorways that are readying for release. One of these is a smooth “Triple Black” look for the new model, which features some interesting variation from its counterparts. The Primeknit upper on this black pair is different from the other colorways we’ve seen, in that it uses knit patterns from at least two different original Ultraboost models. The 2.0’s gradient toe box is prominently featured in the front, as well as the 4.0’s octopus tentacle-style grid wrapping around the heel, and while it is currently unclear, the 3.0’s midfoot section appears to be hiding behind the TPU cage.
ADIDAS ULTRA 4D “TRIPLE BLACK” RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas’ latest colorway of the Ultra 4D runner has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. The “Triple Black” color scheme featuring multiple Primeknit patterns will be available from both adidas and select retailers with the usual price tag of $220. UPDATE 11/27/20: adidas’ “Core Black” colorway of the new Ultra 4D silhouette has now been scheduled to release next month, on December 12th, 2020. Available exclusively from adidas, the hybrid model will come with a price tag of $220. Check out the official images below for a better look.
