adidas’ celebration of their famous Torsion Bar technology continues this month, though instead of a vintage release, instead, we’ll see something entirely new. Mashing up a handful of reworked adidas silhouettes, we present the Torsion X, coming soon.

The adidas Torsion X is easily one of the most aggressive silhouettes from the Three Stripes in some time. The shoe includes a range of features from several other Originals franchises, including BYW, Ozweego, and more. The Torsion X begins with what appears to be a standard-issue mesh upper, layered around the mudguard, eyelets, and heel counter with smooth suede for support and stability. The tongue’s shape is borrowed from the FYW-97 that returned earlier this year and is partially locked in place by clear plastic tubing looping around the lacing system. Next, the Torsion X rests on top of brand new tooling that combines the best that Torsion technology has to offer with the recent BYW midsole. As expected, the full-length Boost midsole is divided into three sections, each reinforced with a colorful outsole to provide targeted support underfoot. All three sections of the sole are connected by a crazy looking Torsion bar that begins in the midfoot before reaching outwards and visibly wrapping around the Boost pods for a never-before-seen look.
