The adidas Tischtennis is back. The niche performance footwear, originally built for table tennis, has become a lifestyle staple thanks to its breathability and lightweight materials. This week, the vintage trainer returns in two new Germany-inspired looks.

When you think of adidas Performance footwear, likely the first category that comes to mind is not table tennis. However, like most niche sports out there, the Three Stripes has got you covered, thanks to the retro Tischtennis silhouette, which was originally designed specifically for ping-pong. The Tischtennis is strikingly similar to many archival adidas trainers, though there are some key differences in materials to set it apart. Instead of the usual leather or suede base layer, the Tischtennis sports a single layer of large-gauge mesh, making the silhouette about as breathable as possible, short of not wearing shoes at all. This also removes a ridiculous amount of excess weight, keeping the Tischtennis slim and easy to move around in. Suede overlays are added to the heel and toe to help keep form.

adidas Originals latest colorways of the Tischtennis launched earlier this week, and are now available from Aphrodite. Both colorways come with a price tag of approximately $90, with a wider release from both adidas and select retailers in the coming weeks.
