This year’s Summer Olympics have been canceled, and with it, so have most of the sneaker release plans from our favorite brands. However, that’s not going to stop them from releasing the shoes. This week, adidas unveiled a new “Medal” pack of the Stan Smith, dropping soon.

Summer sneaker release for 2020 took a major hit when the Olympic Games were canceled earlier this year. Typically, the Olympics are an easy way for brands to drop a ton of product at once, all based around a central theme. Now, however, with all the shoes produced and ready to ship, there is no more special occasion to associate them with. Despite this, many brands are moving forward with some of their release plans, like adidas’ new Stan Smith “Medal” pack coming this summer. Arriving in three colorways, these pairs feature a premium white leather upper, grey suede overlay on the lateral side, and a metal heel plate for each medal color. The gold look comes with a matching green velvet interior, while silver is paired with navy blue, and bronze with maroon.

ADIDAS STAN SMITH “MEDAL” PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

Without a doubt, the adidas Stan Smith “Medal” pack would have already released, had the COVID-19 pandemic not shut down most of the world. However, we are still likely to see a release of these special-edition Stan Smith’s, likely sometime this Summer. Pairs will likely come with a retail price in the $100 range and release from both adidas and select retailers.
