Pharrell Williams’ collection with adidas Originals is expanding exponentially this year. With the launch of the colorful “Holi” collection far behind us, we finally have an official look at the next part of the series; the Pharrell x adidas Afro Hu NMD.
Pharrell and adidas just keep coming with new releases. Still very fresh off of their “AMBITION” adidas BYW pack last week, the Three Stripes has finally loaded the official images of their next collection onto the website. Coming this August, the new Afro Hu NMD collection celebrates African heritage through shoes. The silhouette will be the same Trail model as the last two releases, though this time with some minor changes. First, the colorways are extremely eccentric. Each upper features a striped black and white base accented by a third, central color. The details around the shoes like the heel tabs, laces, and caging all take on wacky mismatched colors to contrast the main body.
While this is the first official acknowledgment of the new pack from adidas, it is not the first we’ve seen of it. Over the last several months, our friend Godlvl has slowly released in-hand images of each colorway through different stages of development. Early samples of the collection featured very minute details, like small strings of beads attached to either side of the branded heel tab. The official images shoe that these additions have been removed from the final retail version, though each colorway is still stunning.

The next Pharrell Williams x adidas Hu NMD pack is scheduled to release on August 18th, 2018. The colorful new “Afro” renditions will retail for the standard $250 from both adidas and select retailers.
