adidas Skateboarding has been popping off in recent months, from the debut of the Tyshawn Jones’ signature shoe to Mark Gonzales’ Aloha Super. Now, the division is introducing their next original silhouette, the Copa Nationale.

adidas Skateboarding has always shared a common thread with the brand’s most dominant division: soccer. This is largely due to adidas’ popularity in the 60s and 70s growing from their turf soccer shoes and other soccer-inspired lifestyle footwear. The division was also the basis for much of the work that adidas Skateboarding does now, having found plenty of useful technology and designs were applicable in both fields. This is the premise of their latest sneaker, the Copa Nationale, unveiled earlier this week. The Copa Nationale pulls inspiration from both adidas indoor soccer shoes and skate shoes of the early 2000s, both known for their slim and sleek profiles. The Copa Nationale features a multi-layered suede upper, with plenty of reinforcement around the toes and heel. The shoe resides on top of a durable and flexible cupsole, which provides maximum grip and board feel for riders.

The adidas Copa Nationale unveiled by the Skateboarding division is scheduled to release next weekend, on March 1st, 2020. The new silhouette will launch in a clean blue and yellow colorway from both adidas and select retailers for just $90.
