The adidas Samba is the king of soccer-turned-lifestyle sneakers. Originally produced in 1949, adidas has manufactured over 35 million Sambas since- though none have featured their famous Boost technology until now. Check out the Samba RM, coming soon.

The adidas Samba has been an essential piece of the brand’s archives for years now, inspiring tens if not hundreds of new models over the years. However, very rarely do we see the Three Stripes make changes to the original. In 2019, that changes in a big way. This week, adidas has finally given Samba fans what they have been clamoring for: an updated version of the soccer silhouette with a new Boost-filled midsole. Similar to past updates of this nature, adidas has branded the new look the Samba Restomod, or RM, to represent the timeless classic with modern technology. The first colorway of the updates Samba constructs the original upper entirely in supple black leather, and smooth black suede overlays on the mudguard and heel tab. The tongue has been shortened significantly, and the gold adidas Samba branding on the lateral side instead reads “S4M3A”. Finally, the new look is completed by a Boost-filled translucent blue midsole.
