The adidas Samba has been a mainstay in the brand’s offerings since its debut 70 years ago, constantly being reworked and revamped for modern technology. This month, the legendary silhouette returns in two simple new colorways.

70 years ago, adidas debuted the Samba, a purpose-built indoor soccer shoe made from a leather upper with suede overlays and a thin cupsole for better feel and traction. While the Samba performed excellently in its intended use, the silhouette quickly became popular outside of the indoor courts, adopted by everyday wearers and skateboarders due to their supreme comfort and style. By the ’70s, the adidas Samba was a massive hit, and has remained one of the Three Stripes most popular silhouettes to this day. Now, as the Samba enters its 70th year on retail shelves, adidas is revamping the fan-favorite OG silhouette with some fresh new colorways, arriving in stores soon. Both are relatively simple, adding small hints of color to otherwise basic black or white looks, with the black taking on yellow stripes and heel counter, while the white pair features baby blue on the same overlays. Both pairs feature materials as close to the original as possible, meaning premium leather and ultra-fine suede.

adidas’ latest colorways of the fan-favorite Samba OG have not yet been scheduled for release, though they are expected to drop sometime in the coming weeks from both adidas and select retailers. Both the black/yellow and white/blue color schemes will come with a price tag of just $80.
