adidas’ classic Samba trainer is getting a ton of love from the brand this year with a wide range of new releases. Coming soon, they have a new limited-edition style that gives the shoe a ballet-inspired makeover with a “lace” upper.
The Samba has been one of adidas Originals’ main focuses this year, refreshing the iconic trainer with a huge array of new colors and styles so far in 2024. Just this month, they teamed up with Harris Tweed for two pairs in their classic textiles in simple brown and grey color schemes. Now, it appears the Samba is getting another new makeover, this time inspired by ballet shoes.
adidas is cooking up a special new pair of the Samba this season, reportedly inspired by ballet footwear. This new style ditches the shoe’s standard leather base in favor of a new mesh weave, designed to look like an intricate lace pattern and complete with floral shapes. This is paired with suede and leather overlays, some of which feature actual lace accents hiding underneath them. Finally, four flower shaped clip-on pieces and two sets of laces come with each pair.

adidas’ latest special-edition pair of the Samba has not been announced for release yet, but is currently rumored to release sometime in October 2024. Featuring a special lace-inspired patterned mesh for the upper, pairs will likely be available in limited numbers from adidas and select retailers.
