adidas has been fairly successful in updating their classic sneakers with modern materials this year. This month, another ’80s silhouette has surfaced with a new Boost midsole: the Rivalry Hi.

The adidas Rivalry Hi is back. Originally built in the ’80s as one of the Three Stripes premiere basketball sneakers, the Rivalry quickly became a fan favorite. Since then, the Rivalry has released in dozens of colorways and several versions, including a low-top cut. Now, piggybacking off of Eric Emanuel’s study of the silhouette, adidas is bringing back the Rivalry Hi with a new Boost midsole. The new look retains much of the same construction as the original, albeit much sleeker. The leather upper has been modified in some area for a more simplified look, though the various textures and materials used are anything but simple. Dressed in two shades of white, one pair features accents in orange and green to complete the new look.
