The adidas A-ZX series is back. Originally launched in 2008 and extending into ’09, the series saw the Three Stripes renovating ZX silhouettes with special colorways and collaborations. Now, adidas is relaunching the line, complete with the original ZX 1000c.

The adidas ZX franchise has been surging back in the past few years, thanks to a combined nostalgia for retro sneakers as well as some modern-day updates to the classic Three Stripes silhouettes. Thus far, the ZX revival has included both new and old silhouettes and color schemes, but this week, adidas is taking it to another level with the return of the A-ZX series. Originally running from 2008 into 2009, the A-ZX line saw some of the beloved runners take on exciting new color schemes and collaborations. Now, over a decade later, ZX is back to do it again. To kick things off, the Originals team has given us an early look at the first three releases from the new A-ZX campaign, as well as a “Periodic Table” style chart hinting at what’s to come. The first drop, featuring the ZX 1000c in its original color scheme, opens up the ‘R’ section of the table thanks to it’s “Retro” name, while the second release, the ZX 8000 “Superstar” checks off the ‘S’ box. The third release we got an early look at is the atmox x adidas ZX 8000 “G-SNK”, which will likely take up the ‘A’ box for atmos on the table.
