The adidas PowerPhase has been somewhat of an enigma for the last few years. This week, an early look at a new style has surfaced, refreshing the simple trainer in a suede build and grey colorway for Spring 2025.
The adidas Powerphase was originally introduced in 1987, at the height of aerobics classes and all-purpose training sneakers from the Three Stripes and Reebok. The model faded into obscurity quickly afterward, but was revived thirty years later in partnership with Kanye West under the Yeezy label. The Yeezy team released a small assortment of colors before returning it to the vault, not to be seen again until Bad Bunny released a single style of the shoe in 2022.
Now, the Powerphase is coming back, this time as a standalone, in-line adidas model. The Calabasas branding of the Yeezy line has been removed, and the first style to surface features an all-suede build, save for leather heel countes. This edition comes in a soft “Grey Two” shade for the entire upper, and is outfitted with an Off-White cupsole unit to complete the look.
