2019 is shaping up to be a big year for adidas. The Brand with the Three Stripes has been coming in hot and fast with new collaborations and models. This week, however, the Powerphase suddenly surfaced online, with a general release scheduled in March.

The adidas Powerphase was a largely forgotten silhouette until 2016. This is when Kanye West first previewed his new take on the 1980s silhouette, dubbing it the Yeezy “Calabasas”, and forming a new love of classic adidas sneakers in the hearts of many fans. Now, a full year after Kanye’s tonal takes on the Powerphase are all but sold out from retail stores, adidas has decided it is time for the silhouette to return- this time in a much more widely available form. For their latest release, adidas has slightly modified the Powerphase from Kanye’s custom iteration. Now, the leather is slightly less luxurious, and the gold foil Calabasas branding returns to the original embossed Powerphase logo. So far, the new look has appeared in two initial colorways, one with a white upper and cream outsole, while the other goes for a cream upper and white midsole.
